Knead the figs, the chopped nuts (almonds and walnuts), the fennel seeds and the garam masala. Mix well with your hands till it becomes a solid sticky mass. If the dough is too dry you can add a tbsp of extra rum at a time.
Form into a roll, cover with foil and set in the oven for 15 minutes.
Let cool completely. Cut into slices and serve.
